I don't know about you, but lately I've been bored by the redundancy of friending memes. It feels like I'm always being asked the same things — favourite books/movies/games/fandoms, things I post about, things I look for in friends... This is all well and good, I don't have anything against those questions — I've found so many good LJ-friends through them, why would I? — but I find myself hoping to be asked something new at every friendzy I participate in.
And then I thought, why not organize one myself?

I had someone request a black, British, female, genderqueer, steampunk engineer and that turned into a series.

LOL yes, I feel that way about most music from the last several hundred years. There are bits that I like, but most of my favorites are things like 400 year old Irish harp tunes.

I support the right of all peoples to rule themselves as they see fit. However, I note that this is a great deal harder than it looks, and long-held countries routinely fail at it.
