Here and Now — A Friendzy

I don't know about you, but lately I've been bored by the redundancy of friending memes. It feels like I'm always being asked the same things — favourite books/movies/games/fandoms, things I post about, things I look for in friends... This is all well and good, I don't have anything against those questions — I've found so many good LJ-friends through them, why would I? — but I find myself hoping to be asked something new at every friendzy I participate in.
And then I thought, why not organize one myself?
So here I am, with an attempt at an original friending meme! Share, comment, find friends, you know the drill!
The more, the merrier:

Name: rekishi, Sam
Age: late 30s
Location: Germany, Europe
Currently, what are you...
... Reading? I'm sort of between books atm and started the first of the "Chief Inspector Gamache" mysteries mostly because I had it on my kindle already, but I don't plan to read the whole series at this point
... Watching? Nothing new, for reasons outlined below. I have a weekly Farscape rewatch and am watching a lot of crime procedurals I have already seen at least once (but mostly more often), because I know what happens and it's basically comfort watching
... Listening to? Nothing specific, I am just off a The Amazing Devil trip (triggered by writing Witcher fanfic), but I basically will always listen to Queen and otherwise a random assortment of what comes whenever
... Playing? I don't play games. Duolingo, if we count that! But I've mostly just been keeping my streak alive the last few weeks because I need to prioritize
... Working on (job-wise and/or leisure-wise)? I'm working in a regulated industry and I'm always working on one project strategy or other, and I also sometimes write about what I lovingly dub "my IT project"...I'm not in IT or anything related to IT, but somehow found myself elbows deep in systems. Go figure. I'm also working on a master's thesis for a job-specific degree. I hate it and have been asking everyone I know to shoot me if I start talking about another post-graduate degree. Leisure-wise, I just finished a Witcher fic where I turned Jaskier and Geralt into frogs, which was my first and only excursion to Witcher fandom (one hopes!) and am currently working on a murder mystery fic which is a thin veneer for writing a friends to lovers story
... Looking forward to? The thesis being done. That's the one silver living
... Worried/concerned/annoyed about? My Ukrainian colleagues. The war in Ukraine in general and the political response to it. The election in France. Failing the thesis.
What were your last three LJ entries about and when did you post them?
Uhm let's see:
Today: Many things make a post a general update on thesis/fic/books/my twisted knee and a link to this place
Yesterday: Two Progress Reports an update on my twisted knee and a draft for three very silly murder mystery scenarios that I enjoyed greatly
Friday: An auspicious start to the weekend? about my vanquishing my leaking kitchen drain, my productive plans for the weekend and the subsequent update that I twisted my knee like an idiot
Anything else? Contrary to what it looks like I don't post daily and have the unfortunate tendency to sometimes go radio silent over stretches of time. I'm not talking from a US perspective, which may be obvious and has never been an issue on DW but has led to misunderstandings in other places on the interwebs.

That was such a fun show.

Yeah, Russia is alarming. But here's a note of hope for you: Russia's biggest advantage has always been General Winter, and far as I can tell, I don't think they've thought through the fact that he's AWOL with climate change. Military tactics that worked great for Russia in the past will sooner or later fail spectacularly. As creative as Ukranian responses have been, that could get very interesting.

I'm lucky if mine even resembles a human perspective. Often it does not.

Which language(s) are you learning on Duolingo? I am currently on a 402 day streak of Turkish.

Chinese, actually, but I'm not expecting to attain any degree of fluency and am mostly trying to get a feeling for the language for work reasons.
